"We wanted to capture the look of old world Mexico, somehow steeped in the lushness of the Midwest. The leafy green foliage and fluffy, paper thin blooms of the bougainvillea used throughout the arrangements contrasted with the sharp colors and almost stern facial features of our Cuban bride. Saturated color, crotchet lace, whimsical shapes and patterns, and textures galore conjure up this feeling of easy times and lavish living.
We wanted to reflect a feeling more than anything. I think we did that. And not surprisingly, it was captured photographically exactly as it was seen by the naked eye. Have we mentioned that it was a sultry 85° by 9am kind-of day? Nothing about this shoot would have been the same without the amazing brains and superhero creativity behind each element. It was perfection." - Jane Tucker of Milles Flores
