Emily Walters is a lover of all things creative, a floral designer, and serial entrepreneur. A Kansas City native, she received her degree in fine arts, and after several jobs related to her field, she found and fell in love with wedding and event floral design. After working several years in the industry, Emily saw a need for a blog to represent real midwest weddings, and vendors, and created Middle of the Map Weddings in 2011.

Emily has taken a break from the industry for several years starting other businesses like The Bloom Academy, and Hazel & Ollie, but has never lost her passion for weddings. She decided to partner with her good friend (and KC wedding guru) Carolyn to re-start Middle of the Map Weddings as a Kansas City centric website and Instagram. Their goal is to help connect couples to local vendors, and share inspiration to help create events amazing.

Carolyn Campbell Schwartz is the founder and owner of Ultrapom Event Rental, an all in one specialty and standard event rental company. A Kansas City native, Carolyn adventured around the world in her twenties, only to land back in her beloved hometown for her thirties. With a background in architecture and urban design, she worked on massive city-level strategic and design projects in Sydney, Australia, but was ready for a change in her work life.

She loved sourcing decor for her friends' weddings, and thought "I wish I could rent this instead of buy this." And thus Ultrapom Event Rental was born. It all started in the second bedroom of her little house in Overland Park, and has expanded year on year to become an all in one rental company.
