Inspiration: Turquoise and Pink Garden Shoot

I stumbled across Jenny Cookies on Twitter, and once I took a look at her blog it was all over from there.  I’ve been totally in love with blue and turquoise glass lately (I have several clients that will be using it next year), so this styled shoot really caught my eye.  The dessert table is total perfection, with all the beautiful, and yummy looking treats, and peonies are of course a favorite.

Floral Friday: Fresh Pinks and Greens

Phew, it’s hot here in the midwest.  Stepping outside is like walking into a giant oven, so today’s Floral Friday post is fresh, light, and springy.  With all different shades of pinks and greens, with a pop of yellow, these beautiful spring blooms are a breath of fresh air.  Great work on this one Jenny!

Floral Friday: Succulent Baby Pink

When I look for beautiful, and inspiring designers for Floral Friday posts, they aren’t always from the midwest.  But when I do find amazing work from floral studios like Pollen (based in Chicago), I get super excited to share the amazing talent we have right here in the middle of the map!

And not only does Lynn at Pollen create flowers that are beautiful, their business also works with locally grown flowers as much as possible.  They don’t dye or bedazzle their flowers, but use them in their natural state.  Her goal is to be working on only green weddings by 2012.  Chic and earth friendly, who could ask for more!

Inspiration: Lanterns and Peonies

I came across this beautifully styled shoot on one of my favorite wedding blogs Elizabeth Anne Designs.  Imagine my excitement when I realized that it was done by a group of super talented midwest vendors.  And not only that, they’re from right here in my hometown of Kansas City.  I couldn’t help but re-share all the loveliness and inspiration.  Wouldn’t it be the most perfect summer wedding?

So, so lovely, amazing work ladies!

Floral Friday: Jewels and Peaches

I hadn’t found anything to post about for Floral Friday, and was thinking that I would take a break.  However I was sifting through Facebook this afternoon and saw Jennifer Kathryn’s post about the Bouquet Dress Challenge over on Style Unveiled.  She shot this amazing bouquet created by our lovely Chicago floral friend Kelly at Fleur, and it just had to be shared.  The mix of jewel tones with the light peach and subtle greens is such an unexpected and fresh combination.  Make sure to visit the Style Unveiled blog to see more shots of this, and many other AMAZING bouquets created by other talented designers across the country.
