Inspiration: Black and White Wedding Dress

Leigh Miller submitted a midwest engagement session to me recently, which I’ll soon be sharing on the blog.  However while looking at her site I was really drawn to the wedding of Jessica and Matt.  Unfortunately it’s a coastal event, so I couldn’t use it as a real midwest wedding.  However Jessica’s dress is just too beautiful not to share.  Sure there are plenty of ways to bring colors other than white into your ensemble, but I think she did it in such a unique way.  The black embroidery, and the beautiful flowers on her gown are delicate and ethereal, and fit their outdoor ceremony.  Plus I love her fluffy top knot!

Floral Friday: Delicate Puffs

Gypsophila, or as it’s more commonly known, baby’s breath, is making a come back.  For a long time it, much like the carnation, has been considered the red headed step child of the flower world.  Labeled as a cheap filler, usually associated with “old fashioned” weddings.  However baby’s breath isn’t cheap, and when it takes center stage in an arrangement can be simply amazing, as exhibited by this wedding receptions, beautiful, modern decor.  Also the personal flowers which include silver brunia, and a variety of beautiful roses are perfect for a winter wedding.

See what I mean about the baby’s breath?  It’s simply stunning.  Such an inspirational event.
