Newlyweds: Rachael and Erik, Independence, MO

I absolutely LOVE everything about this newlywed session shot by Jaime of Digitalive Images.  There’s lots of things that are fabulous about newlywed sessions.  One you get to wear your dress again, two it’s so much more relaxed and laid back than the wedding day, and three it’s more intimate because it’s just the bride and groom sharing some sweet moments together.  For their newlywed session Rachael and Erik visited the square in Independence, MO and some of the local businesses.  I love that their shoot feels totally retro thanks to the settings and styling.  My favorite is the bowling alley, what a cute idea!

Newlyweds: Andy and Lindsay

I absolutely love newlywed sessions, and don’t get to feature them as often as I’d like here on Middle of the Map.  There’s something so relaxed and sweet about them.  The couples not hurrying to get all the pictures they need crammed in, everything’s nice and relaxed and they can just be themselves.  Today’s comes from Morgan at Blue Ampersand Photography.  Andy and Lindsay are an adorable couple, I love her bright red lips and nails, and her black stone wedding ring is gorgeous.  Plus what bride wouldn’t love an accordion serenade from their new hubby!

Newlyweds: Amanda and Nick, Chicago, Illinois

I think the photographer for this newlywed session Jason Kaczorowski offers such a great description I thought I’d let his quote set the scene for Amanda and Nick’s pictures:

Amanda and Nick opted instead of posing for an engagement session prior to their wedding to have a sunrise shoot captured shortly following their honeymoon. The early morning post wedding portraits were photographed along Lake Michigan, the Chicago skyline, at Navy Pier and near the Kinzie Street Bridge by a vibrant yellow garage door. They utilized the handmade tissue paper flower arrangements Amanda created for her reception centerpieces and photographed the location where Nick popped the question to Amanda on the doorstep of the couples adjoining apartments where the two lived as neighbors while falling in love.

Day After Session: Jen and Bobby

Day after sessions are such a fun idea.  I think they often have a more laid back feel, and it’s a fun alternative to taking all your pictures as a couple on your wedding day.  While this adorable Chicago session with Jen and Bobby allowed them to shoot in some great locations, they also got to include their sweet boxer Megan in some of their shots.  Thanks to Serendipity Portraits for your submission!
