Real Weddings: Michelle and Mike, Madison, Wisconsin

Michelle and Mike live in Alaska, but since none of their relatives and few friends live that far north, they decided it would be best to have their wedding in the “lower 48″.  Neither of them were set on celebrating their day in their hometowns, so Michelle did tons of research and happened upon Madison, Wisconsin.  They were thrilled with their choice, and hosted a beautiful destination wedding for all their family and friends with tons of activities.  I love the palette of browns, greens, and whites, and the fact that Michelle bought so many of her items for their big day from indie artists on Etsy.  A big thank you to Michelle for sharing all the details of the day, and to Jaimee C. Photography for her lovely images.

Who, What, Where ~ Ceremony, Reception, and Catering: Bellini’s Restaurant.  Flowers: Daffodil Parker.  Cake: Craigs Cake.  Party Favors (Carmel Apples):  California Caramel Company.  Photos: Jaimee C. Photography. Accessories, etc: Etsy.

Even more loveliness…

From the bride…

Mike and I have known each other through volleyball for about 7 years.   Neither of us have family in Alaska so it was an easy decision to have our wedding in the lower 48, but then we had the dilemma of where…  I did not want to go to my hometown and he did not really have a hometown in the lower 48 either.  As I was searching around the web for chapels, churches,  and restaurants, Bellini’s pops up on my screen.  The pictures and reviews for this spot looked perfect, and there is tons to do in Madison, Wisconsin.

Probably one of the most fun websites I purchased from was ETSY.  I purchased all of my jewelry, some hand-painted glasses for the wedding party, my garter, shoes, and my purse as well as the bridesmaids purses.  I knew I wanted caramel apples for the wedding favors so I looked around and found the California Caramel Company and they were willing to ship and gave me a deal.

It was a very nice ceremony and the light shown through the stain glass windows just like I had imagined it would.  The restaurant is truly a gem and worthy of lots of praise.  We went and took lots of fun pictures around town, and then headed back to the restaurant for dinner and a smashing party.  Decoration for the place was merely flowers.  The restaurant is so stunning that minimal decorations are all that are really needed.
