Real Wedding: Abbie and Joseph, Madison, Indiana

Abbie and Joseph are high school sweethearts. They started dating sophomore year and before they graduated decided to go to college together. After a slightly bumpy road through growing up and changing so much, they knew that they were absolutely in love with each other and decided to get married after 7 years of being boyfriend and girlfriend.  Thanks so much to Abbie and Joseph for sharing all the details of their day, and to Tori of Marvelous Things Photography for her beautiful images.

From the Bride…

I was really unsure about what colors and theme I wanted for our day. I found the bridesmaids dresses and so that helped lay out a color palate. The outfits that Joe picked out for his groomsmen turned out to be the perfect fit to my bridesmaid’s dresses.

All of the flowers from our wedding were grown in my backyard, Joseph’s backyard, picked on the sides of highways, and bought at the Farmer’s Market on the morning of the wedding.  My mom and sister put together all of the bouquets. We made birdseed bag and potpourri cups for people to throw at us after the ceremony, and my mom and aunts did all the decorations and flower arrangements at the reception.

Joseph and I both have a strong connection and love for our little town of Madison. Tori really captured that in the photos. The fountain, Joseph’s church, and the photos at the Lanier Mansion really highlighted how much we love our town.

Favorite part of the day was definitely the reception. The energy and love we felt from just getting married, along with being surrounded by every person we loved, and that loved us, made it an insanely special and incredible night.
