Real Midwest Wedding: Megan and Ben, Indianapolis, Indiana

Ben and I met in undergrad in genetics class.  We were friends for 2 years before we both ended up going to get a masters in biology prior to going to medical school.  We started dating that year, and we went through medical school together, lived apart for the first 2 years of our relationship. We were engaged by the end of our 3rd year together, then married 2 weeks after graduation.

Who, What, Where ~ Reception: Indiana Roof Ballroom. Photographer: Bowersock Photographers. Caterer: Encore Catering.  Flowers: Circle City Designers. Cake: Classic Cakes.

Ben and Megan agreed that they wanted the theme of their wedding to be “simple elegance.”  They decided on black and white as the main palette, with dark gray bridesmaid dresses.  Overall, they wanted their day to be simple, romantic, and sophisticated.

After meeting with the florist they decided the addition of white feathers would be perfect.

Megan and Ben wanted their pictures to serve as a reminder of downtown Indianapolis, which is why they chose Monument Circle as the main location for the pictures.  They had beautiful weather that day, and also enjoyed the convenience of shooting location with respect to their venue and church.

The Indiana Roof Ballroom was their incredible reception venue.  Ben really wanted a lot of white and Megan agreed as soon as she saw samples of centerpieces with submerged flowers and lots of romantic candlelight.  They added a whimsical touch to the reception with the fun stars they had projected on the dance floor.

Ben and Megan have two adopted pit bulls who they love and adore.  In lieu of favors they made donations on behalf of each dog to their respective shelters/rescues, and placed an announcement on the guests’ tables.

Megan’s favorite part of their day:

Our favorite part of the day was riding around on our minibus after the wedding with our friends.  It was a great feeling to open the champagne in anticipation of the evening ahead.

A big thank you to Megan and Ben for sharing all the details of their day, and to Bowersock Photographers for their beautiful images.
