It seems like this week on Middle of the Map has been all about Minnesota (see yesterdays post about the fabulous Urbane Montage Events). I’m so excited to share today’s real wedding, because not only are Erin and Eric a picture perfect couple, the flowers are amazing. A little out of the ordinary with beautiful textural elements like cockscomb, green trick, and billy balls, and of course some bright colors. Be still my heart!
Who, What, Where ~~ Ceremony: St. Francis of Assisi. Reception: Minnesota History Center. Photographer: Erin Johnson Photography. Florist: Lydia Jane Floral. Cake: A Piece of Cake. Hair: Ashlen McDonough at Mixx Salon. Gown and Bridesmaids: Priscilla of Boston. Flower Girl Dresses: Carmelle Elizabeth.
It’s easy to see that Erin has amazing style. Every bride’s dress is beautiful, but it’s the accessories that really set an individual apart from the crowd. Erin’s shoes are by JCrew, and she wore a beautiful statement pearl cuff, along with a floral fascinator. Her multi-circle earrings were modern fresh take on the typical bridal jewelry.
For the theme and decor of the day Erin says she wanted everything to be clean, crisp, fun and a little bit funky. She loves polka dots and round shapes, so this theme was used throughout the day, from accessories, to flowers, and stationary.
Erin chose a bright, fresh color palette of clover green and cantaloupe, with little pops of yellow and ivory/ white as an accent color.
Erin and Eric wanted to take pictures in more rustic setting, to act as a counterpoint to their bright modern color palette. Some of their favorite shots were in an old worn down parking lot. Erin loved the contrast, and said it made for a laid back, fun shoot.
Erin and her mom worked together to design the wedding invites, programs, and escort cards to coordinate. They also created the table number for the reception, which featured Erin and Eric’s dog, who she says is “like their child”, but couldn’t be a part of the celebration.
The reception tables were decorated with modern fun arrangements including fresh grass in containers, and fresh flowers, along with green pomanders to continue the circle theme.
A big thank you to Erin and Eric for sharing all the details for their lovely day with us, and to Erin Johnson for submitting the images she captured.
