Mr & Mrs. is the brain child of Ashley Hokta of Good Earth Floral Design, and Jen Fyffe of Savvy Wedding and Event Planning. This brand new Kansas City wedding business offers their clients an interactive wedding planning experience. With an actual retail location, couples can view vendor portfolios, see samples of work, and plan their wedding step by step with experienced professionals. A cooperative group, Mr. & Mrs. offers referrals of their “Trusted Wedding Vendors” to ideally match couples with the perfect businesses for their wedding day, along with events where they can meet vendors face to face, and workshops to help them inject some of their own personal style into their big day.

I attended an open house, for vendors a few weeks ago, and was blown away by their lovely concept. Inside the Mr. & Mrs. studio are a photo booth for guests, a coffee bar to sip while you browse, fun retail products from Alter bridal and other local vendors, an inspiration board station, meeting rooms for clients and vendors, and a lovely little event space called “Haven”. The decorative details are done in a fresh palette of white, mulberry, gray, and yellow, with lots of details, both vintage and modern.
Although there were lots of vendors at the open house Ashley took some time to chat with me a little more about Mr & Mrs. I asked her where the idea and inspiration had come from. She told me that creating a business like Mr. & Mrs. had been a dream of hers for a long time. A self proclaimed ”wedding enthusiast” she said that she wanted to create a place for talented vendors, while her partner Jen is all about catering to engaged couples. We spoke about the collaborative creative process, and how rewarding it can be to work with and learn from other wedding vendors, rather than competing with them. Together they run Mr. & Mrs. and help create an amazing experience for everyone involved with weddings and the planning experience.
