When I first spoke to Alea Lovely about submitting some of her work to Middle of the Map, the very first link she sent me was Hunter and Jessica’s “non-traditional” wedding video. The story behind it is so deeply personal, and watching the video, you can see the genuine love and enthusiasm for their new life together that this couple shares.
A little bit of backstory from Alea’s blog: Hunter and Jessica have a love like no other. Almost immediately after they met each other they knew 1. They wanted to marry each other and 2. They wanted to start a family. Hunter is a Cancer survivor whose dad, a few short months before they found out they were pregnant, passed away. They wanted to honor him by giving the baby boy or girl one of his names. Because of Hunter’s chemotherapy in the past they wanted to give themselves the best shot of being able to have a child- and they got their wish right away.
