Featured Vendor: Frozen Music Studios

Since the beginning of Middle of the Map, Frozen Music Studios have been super friendly, and supportive.  Laura is one of the blogs contributors, and my initial contact with them was for submissions of some of their beautiful weddings to be featured on the site.  Read more below and find out all about this awesome husband and wife photography team.

Where to find them: websiteFacebook, Blog

Laura and Josh live in Moorhead, Minnesota, and work just across the river in Fargo, North Dakota.  Their studio is an old downtown building, originally a department store in the late 1800s.

Laura blames her parents for her love of photography.  Her parents were in charge of putting together her elementary schools year books, so they constantly attended functions and snapped photos.  They had strips of film and prints all over the house every year as they worked on putting the pages together.

In 2004 Laura and Josh were asked to photograph a family friend’s wedding, and also got married themselves shortly after.  Using what they observed from their wedding photographer, they ended up with some great pictures for amateurs.  After two years of shooting weddings for friends and acquaintances they decided to take the steps to officially become a business, and in 2006 Frozen Music Studios was born.

Outside of photographing weddings, Laura says her favorite subject is the North Shore of Lake Superior.  Whether it’s a grove of birch trees, the expansive lake, or the norther lights, it never ceases to provide her with inspiration and subject matter: “There is something so whimsical and magical about the rock shores of Lake Superior!”

Laura’s favorite part of shooting weddings?  Meeting awesome couples and their families.  She says: “I feel really blessed to work with my clients, and I am absolutely honored to be a part of their wedding day.”

I asked Laura for some words of advice to couples planning their day, and picking a photographer.  She answers: “Choose a photographer that not only matches your desired photographic style, but someone that fits your personality.  Your photographer is going to be like your shadow on your wedding day.  You need someone that you will be completely comfortable around all day.”

A big thank you to Laura and Josh of Frozen Music Studios for answering my questions and submitting your lovely work.  Please visit their blog to stay updated on all their latest shoots, and see more of they fabulous images.
