Inspiration: Futuristic Bride

Middle of the Map Weddings is all about sharing inspiration.  While vintage and hand made inspired editorial shots are some of my favorites, it’s nice to see something a little off the beaten path.  I was delighted when trüstudio submitted this concept shoot to be featured on the blog.

“As time progresses and our surroundings simplify, weddings become streamlined and sleek.  Brides opt for minimal fashion, metal accessories, and neutral palettes.  Our bride is not the norm.  She wants to stand out in a sea of sameness.”

“Her dress is fashioned from intricately woven paper.  The scrim-like nature of the material allows certain portions of her dress to be opaque, while others are semi-transparent.  It’s structural quality is molded into the perfect textural shape she desires.  She disregards shoes altogether to accentuate the beauty and form created by her gown.”

“Her look is completed with her makeup.  Instead of following the trend to go absolutely neutral, this bride defies the norm by introducing a bold pop of yellow above her eyes.  She has always loved the cage veil her mother wore for her wedding but modernized the concept to fit her personal style. Rather than a piece of fabric, her veil is meticulously painted onto her face.  All that’s left to do is gather her hair up into an elegant minimal bun on top of her head.  Her look is complete; she feels truly unique.”
